What exactly will I receive with my order?
Your star's name will be recorded in our database and your certificate will be generated as a PDF file for you to download and print out as many times as you like.
I printed my certificate but it doesn't look good. Why not?
Since our certificate designs are very detailed and colorful, some home printers may not have the capability of printing them correctly. We recommend putting your PDF file on a disc and taking it to a print shop to be printed professionally. Most printers will do this very inexpensively.
Will you print, frame, and ship my certificate?
We currently offer only a digital copy of your certificate, but have plans to add more packages in the future.
What name can I give a star?
You can name a star just about anything as long as it is under 44 characters. Most customers use the recipient's name or nickname. The name will appear on your certificate and in our online database.
I made a typo, what can I do?
Just email us with your star's information and we will edit it. An updated certificate will be generated for you.
Will I own the star that I name? Will scientists refer to the star using my name?
No, nobody owns the stars. Naming a star is a symbolic gift rather than scientific. Star naming by any organization other than the IAU is not recognized by the scientific community. Your star’s name is reserved in our records only.
Will I be able to see the star that I name?
Yes. Some stars are visible with the naked eye, and some will require a telescope to view. Your star may or may not be visible from your part of the world. You can also find your star using planetarium software.
What methods of payment do you accept?
We currently accept payment online by VISA, MasterCard, and American Express.
Are my credit card details secure?
Yes, your payment details will be transmitted using secure SSL 128 bit encryption. Payments are then processed securely via our payment services provider.
